Dr. Teresa A. Wasonga is a highly accomplished Fulbright scholar and NIU Presidential Engagement Professor known for her significant contributions to education, particularly in empowering underprivileged girls in Kenya. She co-founded an all-girls boarding secondary school, providing access to education for those who would otherwise be deprived. Dr. Wasonga holds a Doctorate of Education from the University of Missouri, specializing in educational challenges and sustainable change. She has received recognition, including the 2017 MU College of Education Alumni Outstanding Professional Achievement Award. Additionally, she serves as an Advisory Board member of the Zamzam Foundation, extending her impact beyond her school.
