Poor citizens of Bangladesh, who cannot afford blankets during the winter, tend to get sick and there are fatalities every winter. The Winter comforter and blanket production and distribution project ran in Bangladesh in 2020 and 2021. Sponsoring a blanket was the price of a U.S. coffee at $3.33 a blanket!
We collected unused clothes from the blanket factories to make new comforters. In Recycled Warmth- seasons 1 and 2, We manufactured comforters, distributed them to families, and employed daily workers who lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of manufacturing comforters instead of buying ready-made ones was to significantly reduce cost compared to the market price of comforters, provide employment to locals, and promote recycling.
With the Recycled Warmth- Season 3 project, we want to accomplish a few goals:
Act now to fight winter together!
The Recycled Warmth winter comforter production and distribution project is running in Bangladesh and we need your support! With this project, our plan is to accomplish a few goals: Promote recycling in an area where this is not a common practice Create jobs for unemployed daily wage laborers Distribute free winter comforters to families in need to stay warm We process old clothes and recycle them to make new comforters for families in need. Our aim is to manufacture comforters and distribute them to needy families, while employing daily workers who’ve lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of manufacturing comforters instead of buying ready-made ones is to significantly reduce cost compared to the market price of comforters, provide employment to locals, and promote recycling. We have distributed the manufactured comforters in December 2020 and 2021 and look to distribute these much needed items this year in December 2022.
