A school built for educating and empowering is now facing a crisis

Iqra Junior School is located in the heart of the Kyangwali refugee settlement in Uganda. It is a lifeline for refugee children, many of whom are orphans, and some of whom come from South Sudan, the DR Congo and Burundi.

Founded in April 2023 to give faith, knowledge, and a brighter future to every child, it is the only Islamic community-based school in the settlement. Here, children learn both secular and theological subjects, supporting the minds and souls of children who have endured unimaginable hardship.
